We got GOLD!
Congratulations to everyone at Holdbrook. Today we found out that we were awarded the Gold SMSC award for all of the wonderful work we do to develop the children’s Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural understanding. Thank you to Mr Tucker for putting together the application and to the parents, governors, staff and pupils that spoke so highly of the school.
The report can be found under the curriculum tab.
Today, we hosted our own Holdbrook Olympics.
All children from Reception to Year 6 were split up into different teams. Each team represented a country. They worked hard as a team to earn as many points as possible.
Once all 3 bubbles had completed their Olympic games we added up the scores to find out the winning team.
1st place: Japan
2nd place: Brazil
3rd place: France
Congratulations to all of the children, they all demonstrated our Holdbrook Hero values and were awarded with an Olympic sticker.
There are more photos on the gallery page under the children's tab.
On Monday we launched Olympic Week with a dance workshop.
All children took part in a dance workshop, learning a different dance style.
We had children doing the Samba, Flamenco dancing and many more.
They all had a lovely time.
We were so lucky to be able to visit the Lee Valley white water rafting centre and watch the Olympic Athletes at their training session.
The Hertfordshire Mercury were taking pictures and some of our children were interviewed by the BBC news.
We are so proud of everyone.
Good luck TEAM GB, we hope you come back with lots of medals and come and visit us.
