Happy Monday Everyone! I am locked in a battle with Mr F trying to get the whole class on to our Zoom meeting! Come on Year 6, I am sure we can be the first class with 100% attendance! Please encourage anyone you know who is not there and needs to be!

Reading: Make sure that you are reading for at least 30 minutes a day and that you are completing your Lexia minutes.

Comprehension: Thought I would add this week’s task to Monday’s post so that you have a week to complete it. Please read the text and answer the questions from pages 4 and 5 of your CGP English Comprehension book. Make sure you add your answers to the Year 6 English Blog, so I can mark them. Remember to PEE!

SPAG: To investigate homophones

Watch the video and pause it as necessary, when you are asked to complete a task. In your Home Learning book, write a definition of the word homophone and list down 4 pairs of homophones. If you are unable to access this lesson, read the relevant pages in your English study book and complete the task above. Don’t forget to add your homophones to the Year 6 English Blog.

Writing: I know how much you were looking forward to learning all about the Titanic tragedy – so here we go! Take a look at your ‘ToDo’s, you have a lot of subject specific vocabulary to research!

Handwriting/Spelling: Log in to Letter-join (www.letter-join.co.uk) and select Year 6. Choose the next word you need to work on, watch the animation and then write the word in your Home Learning book at least 5 times. Remember to use ‘Look, Cover, Write, Check’. Please practise 3 words a day. If you do not know what the word means – make sure that you look it up or ask me!

What was the capacity of each lifeboat? (this does depend on the type you are talking about!)
