Home Learning Monday 18th January 2021

Hello Year 2,

I hope you all had a good weekend and are ready for this week’s learning. Below is a link to a virtual library where a different author is featured each week. Take a look to see which author it is this week and read some of their writing.

https://library.thenational.academy/

Congratulations to Sam who has earned the most points in Numbots this week in the whole school! If you haven’t logged on to Numbots or Times Table Rock Stars yet please do so this week. Please contact me on the year 2 email if you need your login.

Below you will find your home learning tasks for today. Once you have completed them, you can send them to me using the Year 2 Blogs on Purple Mash.

To find the blogs go to Purple Mash and click on the green globe icon at the top that says sharing. When you click on that you will see a tab called Shared Blogs. Click on that and then you will see 3 blogs-one for English, one for Maths and one for Topic.

When you are in the blog, click on the green box with the + sign. This will give you a post to type into with title box, summary and content sections.

You can type answers into the content section or you can take a photo of your work and attach it using the icon that looks like a picture with a paper clip. I will then be able to see all of your wonderful learning. You can also ask me questions if you are unsure about any of your work. Remember to save!

Hello Year 2! I hope you are well. For this week’s art work we are going to look at the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian. Please go to the year 2 topic blog on Purple Mash to find an art video to watch and then there is a 2Do on 2paint. If you fancy a challenge use a plain piece of paper and divide it up into rectangles and squares using a ruler. Try to make some lines thicker than others. Remember that Piet Mondrian used primary colours (red, blue, yellow) to colour the shapes. Have fun and I am looking forward to seeing your work!
