The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air Theme Song (Full) - YouTube

Can you sing along in time?

Can you remember all the words off by heart?

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air

In West Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin', all cool
And all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said, "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air"

I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket
I put my Walkman on and said, "I might as well kick it"

First class, yo this is bad
Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass
Is this what the people of Bel-Air living like?
Hmm this might be alright

But wait I hear they're prissy, bourgeois, all that
Is this the type of place that they just send this cool cat?
I don't think so
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air

Well, the plane landed and when I came out
There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested yet, I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like lightning, disappeared

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said, "Fresh" and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought "Nah, forget it, yo, holmes to Bel Air"

I pulled up to the house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabbie, "Yo holmes, smell ya later"
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air

Here is a link to another activity that you might want to try. If you have any siblings at home it could be nice to do this together. This video talks about the story (as a play) and shows how to make a picture book theatre for a story.

https://www.worldbookday.com/online-masterclasses/how-to-create-a-picture-book-theatre/

Don’t worry if it takes you more that one day to complete this – don’t forget to send me pictures.

Keep up the hard work and stay safe,

Make sure that you are reading your book of choice for at least 30 minutes. I would like you to focus on inference today. How do you think the main character in your book is feeling? How do you know this? What evidence from the text supports your ideas? Remember the key word is because.

I think that my character feels……I know this because………

Remember to complete your Lexia minutes to reach your target – I will be handing out dojos.

I will also be setting you a comprehension task to complete on purple mash. Make sure you read the chapter carefully before attempting to answer the questions. I am looking to see who is getting 5 out of 5.

Today we will be looking at another force which is called air resistance.

What do you already know about air resistance? Have you heard of it before?

  1. Please work your way through the attached PowerPoint and then summarise everything that you have learnt today. This should be done in bullet points.

  1. I would then like you to carry out an experiment. I have shown you on the PowerPoint how I want you to present your work.

You will need 2 pieces of A4 paper – one should be left as it is and the other should be scrunched up into a ball.

I would like you to write a prediction about what you think will happen if you drop both pieces of paper from the same height at the same time.

What do you need to do to ensure that this is a fair test?

Will both pieces of paper reach the ground at the same time? Why do you think this?

After you have written your prediction you can drop the pieces of paper.

What did you find out? Why did this happen? Was your prediction correct?

We will be discussing this experiment in our zoom meetings today and tomorrow.
