Week Beginning 22nd February 2021

Home learning - Tuesday 23rd February

Good morning Reception! I hope you have all had a lovely half term. I enjoyed making and eating pancakes on pancake day and I went out for lots of walks. What did you all get up to? Can you draw a picture to show me your favourite part of the half term break?
Now let's get started on another wonderful week of home learning.

Phonics:
Please continue to practice your sounds everyday using one of my videos, the phonics play website https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/ or use your flashcards from your home learning pack.
I have also uploaded another letter formation video for you to have a go at, watch carefully and form the letters just like me, saying the rhyme to help you.

Maths:
We will be continuing with the white rose maths home learning. https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/building-9-10-week-2/
Today you will be practising counting backwards from 10. I have included an activity for you to have a go to help you practise this skill. Here are some helpful rhymes for you to sing too:

Topic:
On Tuesday's we have P.E with Mr T. Let's practise our throwing skills today by playing sock ball basketball.
Practise your throwing skills by rolling up some socks to make a ball.
Put something on the floor to mark a throwing line and throw underarm from the line into a basket or box. If this is too easy move the line further away. How far away can you get from the basket and still get it in?
You can also play this game with your grown up or siblings, how can you keep score?

Once we are back at school we will be starting our new topic 'to infinity and beyond' which is all about space.
Your challenge for today is Go outside when it is dark, or look the window and talk about what you can see. Can you count the stars? Can you find the moon? Does the sky change from one night to the next?
