Maths:

Fluency:

Work out these halves-some of them are as sums so you have to work out each side first. Look carefully to see if it is + or - .

E.g. Half of 8 – Half of 2 will be

Half of 8=4

Half of 2=1

So

 4-1=3

  1. Half of 10 + Half of 6
  2. Half of 18 – Half of 12
  3. Half of 20 – Half of 14
  4. Half of 4 + Half of 16
  5. Half of 22 + Half of 24

Remember to partition 2 digit numbers to help you halve them.

E.g. Half of 26

26=20 + 6

Half of 20 is 10

Half of 6 is 3

10+3=13

Half of 26=13

Write your answers in your exercise book before adding them to the Year 2 Maths Blog as a photo or type them straight into the contents box on the Maths blog.
