  • Welcome Back!

    Sat 04 Sep 2021

    Dear All at Holdbrook,

We are really looking forward to welcoming all of our children back to Holdbrook on Monday 6th September 2021.

Children in years 1 to 6 should enter the school via the main entrance at 8:40am.  In order to help the year 1 children with this new routine parents are welcome to walk the children to their line until Wednesday.  All other year groups will be able to walk to their line on their own.  They did this so well last year and all of the adults will be available to help.  The children will then be collected from this playground at 3:15pm.

Our new reception children will enter the school using the EYFS gate at 8:50am.  They will be collected from this gate at 12:00pm on their first day.

Have an enjoyable weekend and see you bright and early on Monday.

    Kind Regards,

    Charlotte Angeli

    1st place:  Japan

    2nd place:  Brazil

    3rd place:  France

Congratulations to all of the children, they all demonstrated our Holdbrook Hero values and were awarded with an Olympic sticker.

  • Ofsted Report Released

    Tue 02 Mar 2021

    Tuesday 2nd March 2021

    Ofsted Report

    Dear Parents & Carers,

I am delighted to be able to share with you our Ofsted report.

This was an additional monitoring visit to assess whether leaders are taking effective action to provide an education under the current circumstances.

I am pleased to say that we are providing an effective education for the children at Holdbrook.

    Some of the highlights include:

    • There is a consistent understanding among the staff about what needs to be done to maintain education.
    • All year groups have a range of learning activities for the day.
    • Teachers provide regular and helpful feedback to the pupils
    • The parents that spoke to the inspectors or completed the survey were positive about the school and the education that the children are receiving
    • The pastoral team works closely with families .
    • Leaders have a strong understanding of children with additional needs.
    • Pupils with SEND are given support and guidance from staff to enable them to learn effectively

The last year has not been easy for many of us, but this report reflects how hard the staff have been working for your children.  We will continue to develop and improve as we strive to get a Good at our next full inspection.

    Kind regards,

    Charlotte Angeli & Caroline Jenkins

  • Free Food Parcels for Holdbrook Families

    Wed 27 Jan 2021

    27th January 2021

    Dear Parents and Carers,

    FREE FOOD PARCELS

We have made a link with a charity called Jedidiah who will provide free food parcels for all families that are in need.

    The charity say:

Jedidiah was set up to provide food support to struggling families.”

“Everyone needs help sometimes. We are dedicated to providing a helping hand to those who are going through a tough time especially worsened by the pandemic. We are committed to standing alongside families whilst they regroup and get back on their feet.”

More information can be found on their website.

    https://www.jedidiah.org.uk/

This is a fantastic opportunity for our families at Holdbrook and we warmly encourage you to take us up on this offer.

How do I order a food parcel?

Speak to Miss Bull our Family & Pupil Support worker.

You can do this by calling 01992 716 789 or emailing pupilsupport@holdbrook.herts.sch.uk

When do I need to order this parcel?

We need to order these by Monday 1st of February 2021.

When do I collect the parcel?

When the parcels are ready and have arrived at school we will text you to say they can be collected.  Parents will be expected to follow the one way system we have in school and to wear a face covering in school.  The exact day and time is unknown at the moment but we have been told the parcels should arrive by the end of the week.

If parents take us up on this offer, the charity will be able to provide parcels fortnightly.

Please don’t be shy, we are here to help!

    Kind Regards,
